Wondering what to expect?

Watch our behind-the-scenes video of last year's inaugural L'Artisan Workshop here and see what our previous attendees had to say about their experiences!

We want both your workshop and travel experience to be completely stress-free and beautiful so we have created L'Artisan Workshop to be a fully ALL-INCLUSIVE experience. Your investment includes all of the following:

of your transportation, both to and from the workshop (you will not have to figure out how to get to the workshop and back again---we will take care of everything!) and to and from all of the workshop activies.

instruction in the art and business of styling and photographing fine art destination weddings by our team of international wedding pros.

from our generous sponsors throughout your stay with us to indulge your senses and inspire your creativity, AND...

beautiful surprises along the way that we can't reveal just yet (or they wouldn't be surprises!).

Workshop Location and Accommodation?

We will begin this year's adventures at the iconic Ritz Paris Hotel located in the heart of Paris, for day one of the workshop (October 8, 2018) and then travel together to our beautiful host Chateau, Château de la Bucherie, a private, 18th century Château, nestled into the French countryside, approximately 45 minutes outside of Paris, for days two through four (October 9 - 11, 2018).

Arrival airport
For most international attendees, your airport of arrival will be either Charles De Gaulle (CDG) or Orly (ORY) Airport, Paris.

Meeting location?

Easy! Simply meet us at the Ritz Paris (you can't miss it---in Paris, all roads lead to the Ritz!)on the morning of October 8, 2018, and we will take care of the rest!

Film or Digital?

L'Artisan Workshop defines itself as a fine art workshop based upon it's romantic aesthetic and authentic approach to the art and craft of photographing and styling intimate destination weddings and elopements, not on the medium in which the images are photographed, so whichever medium---film or digital (or both!)---you are most comfortable with, is fine with us.

Photography and Styling Expertise?

All levels of experience with photography and styling are welcome and you will be provided with plenty of one-on-one time according to your level of experience, don't worry! It is important however, that you have a working knowledge of the camera you bring with you to use at the workshop. This workshop is primarily focused on the artistic and business aspects of destination wedding photography and styling and not on the technical aspects of camera use.

Bring your appetite for all things French and delicious because we have a full menu of lovely things to sip and savour planned for you! After all, we are in France now! Please advise us of any food allergies in advance of your registration to be sure that we can accommodate you.

Image Submission & Portfolio Use?

YES! You absolutely can use the images you make at L'Artisan Workshop in your portfolio and submit them for publication to all the lovely wedding blogs---if no one sees the photos, it didn't happen, right?! Our media sponsor, the beautiful fine art wedding blog and magagzine, Hochzeitsguide will demystify the publication process and you will be provided with all of the vendor credits and submission guidelines upon your arrival at the workshop.

Language of Instruction?

English (with a smattering of fancy French words for effect!) : )

What to Bring?

The camera(s), digital cards and/or film that you wish to use to shoot during the workshop, a laptop computer to enable you to process digital images on site, your image portfolio in easily accessible format to enable you to benefit from one-on-one portfolio reviews, comfortable clothes (bring something cozy and warm, as we will be shooting outside weather permitting), fancy clothes (we are "putting on the Ritz" darlings, so bring your pretty with you for some special surprises --- if not now, when, right?!).

*Kindly note that electrical outlets in France, like the rest of Europe, typically supply 220 - 240 volts AC. Please ensure that you have the correct converters and/or transformers along to enable you to use your laptop and any other electrical devices you cannot live without! : )
