L'Artisan Workshop will be open for registration on March 12, 2017, but in the meantime, you can contact Kasia at email@example.com to hold your seat. L'Artisan is an intimate workshop and to ensure a truly personal and meaningful experience for each attendee, we have limited the number of seats available.
Your investment includes full accommodation for the duration of the workshop (three nights' stay in a beautiful 18th century French Château, see below for more information), all your meals while in attendance(and lots of yummy French champagne, of course!), all of your activities for the duration for the workshop including four fabulously styled photo shoots to help you build your portfolio, inspiring excursions to the Rungis International Flower Market in Paris and a chic secret location in the heart of Paris where you will be shooting one of those fabulously styled photo shoots, classroom and one-on-one instruction in the art and business of styling and photographing fine art destination weddings, lovely French cadeaux to indulge your senses and inspire your creativity, and lots of other beautiful surprises along the way that we can't reveal just yet (or they wouldn't be surprises!). A non-refundable retainer of 50% is required to reserve your seat. The balance of your investment is due no later than four weeks prior to the start of the workshop.
Our host during our stay is beautiful Château Barthélemy, a private, family run 18th century Château, nestled into the French countryside, approximately 45 minutes outside of Paris.
For most international attendees, your airport of arrival will be either Charles De Gaulle (CDG) or Orly (ORY) Airport, Paris.
Easy! A lovely member of the L'Artisan team will be there to whisk you away to Château Barthélemy for the last leg of your arrival journey---all you need to do is get yourself to our L'Artisan Workshop rendezvous location in central Paris and we will take care of the rest! Pick up location details will be provided upon registration. All workshop transportation requirements between October 16 and 19, 2017 will be taken care of by us---all you have to do is style and shoot beautiful images, sip champagne and enjoy life á la française!
Film or Digital?
The L'Artisan Workshop defines itself as a fine art workshop based upon it's organic aesthetic and intimate approach to the art and craft of photographing and styling destination weddings and elopements, not on the medium in which the images are photographed, so whichever medium---film or digital (or both!)---you are most comfortable with, is fine with us.
Photography and Styling Expertise?
All levels of experience with photography and styling are welcome and you will be provided with plenty of one-on-one time accordning to your level of experience, don't worry! It is important however, that you have a working knowledge of the camera you bring with you to use at the workshop. This workshop is primarily focused on the artistic and business aspects of destination wedding photography and styling and not on the technical aspects of camera use.
Bring your appetite for all things French and delicious because we have a full menu of lovely things to sip and savour planned for you! After all, we are in France now! Please advise us of any food allergies in advance of your registration to be sure that we can accommodate you.
Image Submission & Portfolio Use?
Of course you can use the images you take in your portfolio and submit them for publication to all the lovely wedding blogs---if no one sees the photos, it didn't happen, right?! Publication experts from Style Me Pretty and Dear Gray Magazine will be on hand at the workshop to demystify the publication process and you will be provided with all of the vendor credits and submission guidelines upon your arrival at the workshop.
Language of instruction?
English (with a smattering of fancy French words for effect!) : )
What to bring?
The camera(s), digital cards and/or film that you wish to use to shoot during the workshop, a laptop computer to enable you to process digital images on site, your image portfolio in easily accessible format to enable you to benefit from one-on-one portfolio reviews, comfortable clothes (bring something cozy and warm, as we will be shooting outside weather permitting), fancy clothes (we are living "á la française" in a beautiful French Château so bring your pretty with you for some special surprises --- if not now, when?!).
